Biography
Sanathana is a boundary-defying, avant-garde, immersive music project that blends diverse sonic textures with rich, experimental electronic landscapes that is most often dance friendly and yet avant-garde, experimental and innovative with complex time signatures and generative or evolving sound palette. For a little more downtempo or chillout variation but keeping the same philosophy in mind he also has a side project named Sanhata. Based in Goa, India, Sanathana brings together a diverse palette of sonic textures and intricate rhythms that transcend conventional genres. The project was conceived by an artist whose journey began in Muscat (Sultanate of Oman) and later in Scotland (UK) around 1997-98, where he initially delved into music production before committing seriously to the craft around 2006-2007 making online and CD releases across the globe. Ever since, Sanathana has remained a dedicated endeavour, marked by a continuous evolution of sound and style.
At the heart of Sanathana lies an unyielding commitment to creating genre-defying, future-forward music that blends dance-friendly beats with sophisticated rhythmic structures. The project draws upon an expansive Eurorack modular system, Some Semi Modular Gear, Virtual Analog Keyboard Synths, Analog Synths, Hybrid Synths and Groove Boxes, along with Rhythm and Percussion Synths, utilising analog warmth and digital precision to sculpt immersive soundscapes that move effortlessly between Power packed Psychedelic Dance Music, ambient, downtempo, avant-garde and experimental electronic domains. Each composition is a carefully crafted auditory journey, incorporating complex generative rhythms that play with various time signatures and integrate unique scale combinations to achieve a sound that is unmistakably original.
Sanathana’s music resists simple categorization, merging a multitude of genres and influences to produce something uniquely its own. The sound is imbued with a futuristic aesthetic, drawing listeners into a realm where powerful, pulsating rhythms coexist with meticulously layered sound design. Having spent many formative years in Dubai, the artist behind Sanathana developed a global perspective on music, blending Middle Eastern influences, his own country’s Harmonic Scales coming from India with a universal approach to sound. Associated with many global Record labels in releasing singles, tracks, EP’s, Albums and the like, Sanathana has his own label and continues to prefer releasing independently through Samana Records (India). He is constantly working on new music and uses his own label to make regular releases possible at least once a year in the form of an Album and One or Two EP’s a year.
Sanathana is also always open to labels that commission him to write specific Albums, EP’s, Tracks or Singles.

Influences
Sanathana is also a traditional Artist using Sketching with pencil to Modern Abstraction on Canvas and more to represent this side of his Creative Mindset. He is also a Digital Graphics Designer creating Visionary Storytelling Art Pieces using modern tools viz. 3D renderers, Digital Editors and off late, Artificial Intelligence, as his preferred tools in creating a story for his Art pieces.
This Artistic side is his biggest influence even within the realm of Music Production or Composition, always keeping that Artistic intent, action and manifesting Art as an Auditory Experience..

In terms of Literal Musical Influences Sanathana is Open to Listening to all genres and thus somewhere within the realms of human conditioning, all genres that he listens to somehow, somewhere influences him.
Sree Maharaj Mangalanad Puri AKA Goa Gil (R.I.P) connected with Sanathana many years ago whilst the release of his Split Album release named Thetawave Stimulation. Goa Gil and Sanathana became good friends and were always in close contact with each other sharing their musical vision, whenever they spoke or met. Goa Gil included Sanathana and Sanhata music in his Trance Dance Experience Ritual Long Sets (World-Wide) and also released his Music on Various Artists Compilationss.

What is Sanathana live concert?
It is Typically where without much prior stem preparation or planning, Sanathana plays his Eurorack and Patches it live. He also plays and improvises on Keyboard synths, Grooveboxes and Rhythm Machines to create Music on the spot – Live.
Since this is a tedious approach where Music is literally being created on the spot he chooses to do this for a max time period of a 2 hour live concert or performance.
Sanathana – Long Curated Gatherings
Well known to curate on-the-spot long sets of his own produced music as Sanathana and Sanhata combined together to create a story from start to finish, this is a Journey and a Sonic Exploratory Experience for the ones who choose to gather and Dance as a means of Movement meditation, can also be something like Tai-Chi, Yoga or any other means of movement based meditation that one chooses to do whilst present in such long curated gatherings.
The tracks that are picked are always spontaneous and on-the-spot which means never planned in advance. Influencing factors are the location, climatic conditions and the Energy from location to another. This is why he doesn’t play indoors and prefers an Outdoor setting to present Long Curated Gatherings.
Management notes:
The story of our acquaintance is quite interesting – we met at the Gaia Gathering in Lithuania in 2017 (before the Unity project was created). However, I promised Swaroop that if I organize my own festival in the future, I will invite him. And so, after 7 years, Swaroop performed at Unity twice – as Sanathana live and Sanhata live.
